The World of Special Diets.

By now you have either heard of or read about the GFCF Diet. We are a
big fan of this diet, but not before I tested it out. We were told for many
years to start this diet & me being the sceptic that I am put it off. Then our
OT recommended that I take Lexie to a Homeopath. Again sceptical, I went
anyways. (Our OT only has our best interest at heart) The homeopath did
the muscle test & told me that Alexis was allergic to many things, but had a
deadly reaction to peanuts. ( I had told her I thought she was prior to her
telling us that)  Anyways she told me all these things I needed to do. I said
uh huh, OK we will try. I never did try. A year after that Alexis started having
major behavior problems. She's never had any before. So I took her to the
allergist. Sure enough everything the homeopathic had said came back as
Lexie having severe allergies to. Bad enough that I walked out of the office
with an epi-pen. Anyways my point to this is two-fold. One, the diet works.
Two, you never know as much as you think you do.

We have started seeing a homeopathic. We are currently on our 5th
weeks. We have already started seeing amazing results without any side
effects. This week we will start detoxing chemicals and will do this for four
weeks or until her body tells us otherwise. I am very pleased with the
results. We are sticking to our diet and we make sure others don't allow
Alexis to eat anything on her "no,no list." So I encourage you to try the diet
with your child, but ONLY if your going to follow through with it. It's not easy,
but the rewards are worth it.

Now I am going to give you what I have found the most helpful<laughing>
another website. The editor Judy of this site has put a lot of effort into this. I
think you will find it answers all your questions. If it doesn't, e-mail her! Or
me & I will try to find the answer. Here's the link.

With many ASD children as well as ADHA, and ADD this diet has helped. We strongly encourage an allergy test for
foods be done prior to the start of this diet. Often times, our children have allergies to more than just wheat and
dairy.
